Last Night

Christian is starring alongside Rosamund Pike and Anthony Andrews in the short film "Last Night". ""Last Night" is a ten-minute film depicting the final moments of a relationship between an estranged daughter and her dying father. With difficulty both grasp the opportunity for reconciliation which, in turn, provides each with the release they have been seeking." The short film was directed by Abi van Walsum and premiered on the Los Angeles Short Film Festival on 13 September. More info and pictures on Abi van Walsum's website.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I think the Harry Potter fans among you have already read this. David Yates, director of the 6th Harry Potter film, confirmed in an interview with MTV that Christian won't return as Tom Riddle. This puts an end to all the rumours floating around on the internet.

'There will also be an open casting call in London on July 8 for the role of Tom Riddle. Though the teenage form of Lord Voldemort was seen before in 2002's "Chamber of Secrets," the actor who played him then, the nearly 30-year-old Christian Coulson, has aged out of the part. "I think Christian's a brilliant actor, and I thought it was a terrific piece of casting, but he's too old now," Yates said.'

You can read the whole interview here although it focuses more on other things. I'm sure a lot of you are very disappointed, but here's hoping that another great opportunity comes up for Christian.

Rachel has started an online petition in protest to David Yates' decision to not cast Christian as Tom Riddle in HBP and to show her support and appreciation for Christian as Tom Riddle.
